Lotus WorkPlace Primed for Sarbanes-Oxley Lotus's Workplace software, scheduled to be released next quarter, will include a component to help companies conform to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in addition to the expected online learning, workplace messaging and Web content management components. WorkPlace is the IBM Software Group's plan to package collaboration features now in Domino with the breadth of WebSphere functionality. The server software will be one-fifth the size of the current Domino offering. Specific server functions will not be surfaced until the user needs them. IBM Software executives insist that the resulting server software won't be unwieldy. This conglomeration of software will also offer industry-specific solutions and additional functionality that includes components to help users comply with Sarbanes-Oxley financial reporting requirements. |
